The Elderly Should Be Vaccinated First, 3419

Good afternoon, I’m still reporting on the virus.
I was just looking at a news photo of a medical doctor giving a thumbs up after getting the COVID vaccine, she looked young mid 30s or so, it’s hard to tell with a mask, but she certainly wasn’t in the high risk group for COVID-19, so why is she getting the vaccine?
Here we have this life saving drug that is going to set the world back on it’s axis and who is taking it - the people most in danger of dying from the disease? No, healthcare workers and politicians have jumped to the front of the line.
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, formerly known as Sandy Cortez, videoed herself getting the vaccine. She is a healthy young woman, her chance of dying from COVID-19 is something in the order of .000001%. I may have missed a zero or two. But it’s off the charts.
What in the world, if politicians and healthcare workers were in serious danger of getting deathly ill and dying from coronavirus, maybe they should move to the front of the line, but few of them are over 75 which is where about 60 percent of the deaths are. Most of them are not over 55 which is where 92 percent of the deaths are.
If they get COVID, many of these front line workers will not know they have it, unless they are tested. If they have symptoms they will likely be mild.
This is insane, the people who should get every single dose of vaccine available are those most in danger of dying from it, not those who want a good selfie to put on their Facebook page.
Imagine you have raised money to buy truckloads of food for starving children, you ship the food out thinking that you are saving the lives and what you get back are photos of all the food distribution workers sitting around what looks like a big Thanksgiving dinner and all the folks who you thought would be out distributing food, are eating the food sent to feed starving children.Show more

The explanation is that they had to make sure the workers had full bellies, before they distributed food. The fact that children were dying while they were eating was just the cost of doing business.
This vaccine was rushed through the process presumably in order to save lives. The government spent billions of dollars because time was of the essence, now we have the vaccine and healthcare workers and politicians decide they get the vaccine first before the people who need it.
Dr. Anthony Fauci and Joe Biden get a pass because they are both over 75 and in the age group that has the most deaths, but they are the exception rather than the rule.
The people who should get the vaccine first are the ones in senior assisted living facilities where there have been the most deaths. Second are those over 75. With 92 percent of the deaths in persons over 55 they should all have the opportunity to be vaccinated first.
