Congress has reached a deal on a second stimulus package, this will apparently include a 2nd stimulus check. Americans have been waiting for months since the CARES Act and the unsuccessful HEROS Act.

Here are my notes on what the package includes, please note we haven't yet seen the full text of the stimulus bill.

Cost $900 bn

It will include a second stimulus check, more details at the end.

Also gives $300 a week extra unemployment insurance
For 11 weeks (to March 14)

And allocates $284 billion to the paycheck protection program

$15 billion for performance venues

There is $83 billion in there for colleges and schools

And it extends the eviction moratorium that is set to expire at the end of the year

What is not in there is funding for state and local governments (dem demand) and liability protections (Republican demand).

Second stimulus check: $600 per person
Income up to $75k for full amount then tapers off
Until $99k
Joint $150k to $198k
Like last time dependents who are 17 or older will not get a check
But those married filing jointly with someone using a individual taxpayer identification number instead of an SSN can get a check
