Wat Yannawa is an ancient Buddhist temple (wat) dating back to the Ayutthaya period, located in the Sathon district of Bangkok on Charoen Krung Road, Bangkok, Thailand. It has a unique scrap shape and viharn built by King Rama III. You'll find Wat Yannawa, or the boat temple, on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. This temple was built during the Ayutthaya era, when the now bustling city of Bangkok was nothing more than farmland. Built during the 19th century, this Thai-Chinese temple was constructed in the shape of a Chinese scrap ship by order of King Rama III.
