Big Sky Brewing Powder Hound Winter IPA 3.25/5
This Winter Ale from Big Sky Brewing out of Montana is next up in the Christmas/Winter brew series. No mention of being an IPA on the label this entry runs 6.5 ABV, the IBUs are 40 and the listed SRM is 38. I wasn't expecting it to be an IPA but that doesn't mean it wasn't a nice surprise
On the nose she is hoppy but not overly so. The initial hit is bitter but not brutal. Super fast thru the middle, the flavor is based on the hop profile, it's piney without much more going on. Dirty and oily on the back end. Meh there's better out there.
