Does A Belief in Supernatural Hinder Science?

Humanists claim that because Christians believed in the supernatural, that instead of seeking scientific solutions, we turned exclusively to religious practices to get the assistance of supernatural beings or to thwart the influence of malicious ones. Thus belief in the supernatural is harmful. That is a complete mis-characterization, a strawman. It was Christianity and the belief in a consistent God that resulted in the blossoming of science.
