Why We Expose False Teachers

Hi everybody. I’d like to discuss a couple of things that have been on my mind, and I’d like you to know these things. I think it’s good for everybody – it’s good for me, it’s good for you. I think it’s needful.

If you visit The Path of Truth, and see the writings that we have there, you’ll find that there’s a fair bit of material where we talk about false teachers. I don’t know how we took that track, how I took that track, but one of the first writings that I ever did was on false teachers, false prophets, and that was back in 1980, I believe.

That paper has since been destroyed along with several others because it was at that time that I began to write and I knew that it lacked – the writing lacked. And I remember the Lord saying to me, “Victor, give that up, and I’ll give you something better.” I didn’t really want to give those writings up. Those were my first writings, and some of the things that we get for the first time, we prize.

But, I surrendered, I let those things go, and waited a few years, and lo and behold the Lord started to give me writings. And, if I can remember some of those writings, one was on The Church, which we have to this day, which we’ve edited considerably, several times over the years. One is So You Want to Walk With Jesus? and another one was Obedience. Those papers are on our site now. They’ve been revised, but you will see the essence of what the Lord gave me, and those came around 1984, and then progressively I had more writings.

But, what I wanted to say was that we’ve listed a lot of false teachers, by name, and we’ve had people writing in and saying, “you’re sooo full of hate.”

Lord, give me to tell the people here what they need to hear.

People write us and tell us that we’re so full of hate, that we’re behind a computer, “bold as brass”, because what, we’re safe in our offices, and not having to face people personally, directly? Which, isn’t the case. It certainly is the case for a lot of people that we’ve listed on the Internet on our Path of Truth site. But no, it’s got nothing to do with cowardice. It’s got nothing to do with anger or hatred – nothing like that at all.

I would love to meet some of those guys and there are many things about a lot of those fellows that I appreciate. I really do. I could name a few, which I will, maybe, as we go along here. I’m not going to take much of your time here. But I just wanted to say that I just don’t hold any enmity toward these people on a personal basis. None of us does, those that are at The Path of Truth that I’m aware of, but I’ll speak for myself. A lot of these teachers have some pretty good doctrine. They’ve got some good things to say. And truth, no matter where it comes from, no matter who it comes from, can change your life. You can receive the truth, it may not be a clean vessel that the truth comes by, but there is truth there.

When I was searching for the Lord, for example, and I hadn’t become a Christian yet, I was talking to my uncle. And I was getting into New Age stuff, Buddhism, that sort of thing. And I talked about Jesus Christ being on a par with Buddha and Krishna and Mohammed and several others. I didn’t know what I was talking about – I was searching. And my uncle gave me something, and he wasn’t a believer. He was a Catholic who had once been to seminary and dropped away and later returned to seminary and became a priest.

He spoke to me and he said, “Victor,” he said “There’s a big difference between Jesus Christ and other religious founders.” He said, “While other teachers would say ‘Come and follow me, I’ll show you the way, I’ll show you the truth.’ Jesus Christ came and said ‘I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, and no man can come unto the Father except by Me.’” So, that was one thing he mentioned.

Another thing he mentioned to differentiate between Jesus Christ and other teachers was that Jesus’ grave was empty. That has not been the case with any other man. They’re all there in their graves. Only Jesus Christ’s grave is empty. And, he pointed out for what it’s worth, that historical time was divided into BC and AD. Jesus had such a huge impact by His Life on the world.

Those things that my uncle pointed out had an impact on me. I didn’t notice that much then but those things did sink in. Now, he wasn’t a believer, and he greatly opposed my becoming a believer outside the Catholic Church. And of course, I would maintain that you can’t be a believer and remain in the Catholic Church. And I can tell you so much about that, and if you read my testimony you’ll read about that. The Lord made that very clear to me.

So, I just wanted to say that we have no enmity toward people on a personal basis, but what I’ve been given to do is to expose the falsehood. I’ve been given to show you, to show everyone, what is the difference between Jesus Christ and other leaders. And, what is the difference between true ministers, true servants of the Lord, and others. And there are so many teachers out there that are very influential, very charismatic, eloquent, popular, but that doesn’t make them servants of the Lord even though they take His Name, use His Name.

They say, “Well I’ve been called by God to preach.” “I’ve been this” and “I’ve been that” and “I’ve got my papers from this seminary” and “I’ve graduated from theological school and so here I am. I’m ordained as a minister.” And it can be Reverend so-and-so or even Pastor so-and-so or Father so-and-so. But none of those things prove or establish that you’re a man of God.

So, we’ve been taking a stand in the world and teaching people what is right and what is wrong, what is true and what is false, what is good and what is bad. The Lord did say, “Beware of false brethren; you’ll know them by their fruits.” Very true, of course, and we’ve pointed some of those things out. We’ve pointed out the kind of fruits you need to look for.

But I want everybody to know that we’re not in personal enmity with any of those people. But the Lord has a controversy with them. And I’m here to tell you that. But you’re going to have to know for yourself who is a man of God and who is not. You’re going to have to know that for yourself. You’re going to have to know that from the Lord. There is no one else who can know it from. You can’t know it from me; you can’t know it from any other man.

Again, it’s what I said previously in the first video, “It’s all about the Lord Jesus Christ,” and unless He gives you the understanding, unless you receive from Him, you really don’t understand very much. And when it comes to spiritual things, the things of the Kingdom of God, you don’t understand anything, none of us does. I wouldn’t have a thing from my own intellect, from my own being, in any way, of any value, unless the Lord gave it to me. That’s the way, that’s the way it is.

There’s a lot of intellectual faith – “faith” or “belief.” People understand certain doctrines. They seem to be able to put pieces together, and they may have a lot of knowledge, a lot of Biblical knowledge. But is it the Essence that they have, or is it a philosophy? Is all this in the mind or is it in the heart? We need it in our spirit.

Jesus said to the woman at the well, the Samaritan woman, He said: “The hour comes when those who worship God, worship the Father, will worship Him in spirit and in truth.” That is the kind of worship that the Father is looking for. He’s not looking for places of worship or systems of doctrine or systems of religion. That’s not what He’s after.

He’s after our worshipping Him in Spirit and in Truth, in the heart. He wants our hearts. He doesn’t want our sacrifices. He doesn’t want our goodness; He wants His goodness in us. That’s salvation. And so, a good portion of our job is to show you the difference between light and darkness. We share these things but you will have to know them from the Lord. You can’t put your trust in Victor Hafichuk. You can’t put your trust in any other man, or group of men.

So, as I post these videos I’m just going to ramble. I’m just going to share with you what comes to my mind, that’s coming from within me, from my heart, from my convictions that the Lord’s given me over the past 40..44 years. I have so much that I would like to talk about.

We’ll see what the Lord does for you, what He does for all of us. I’m thankful that you’re able to hear these things.
