• PANIK! THE CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS ARE OUT OF CONTROL!
• Number are regularly served to you by talking head and social media without context
• For example, in my county, as of TODAY, there are:
• 6951 cases (which could be overblown as the same person is counted if they take multiple tests)
• 174 deaths (which may or may not be COVID-19 caused)
• Sounds bad, right. But the numbers are out of context:
• Population of my county: 2M
• Chances of getting it: 0.34% (one-third of one percent)
• Chances of dying from it: 0.0087% (one-one-hundredth of one percent)
• Chances of dying in a car accident: 1%
• Therefore the chances of dying in a car accident are 114 times the chances of dying by COVID-19
• DOES THIS JUSTIFY THE FINANCIAL LOSSES WE ARE TAKING?
• This is one way in which you are being manipulated by the media.
