God is in Control? Part 1 (Powerless Christian Clichés)

Matthew 12:36 says, "every useless expression that men shall utter, they shall render, concerning it, an account, in a day of judgment" (Rotherham’s Emphasized Bible). In this lesson we will delve into part 1 of the useless expression, "God is in Control." We see that, as with so many other powerless cliches, this has its foundation in the pagan gnosticism of the so-called 16th century reformer, John Calvin.
