Explanation of the Sunnah Part 6: Abandoning the Sunnah Leads to Innovation

Abandoning the Sunnah is a destructive calamity. The Sunnah means 'the way', and it is the way of living and teaching monotheism as exemplified by all of the prophets from Adam, to Moses, to Jesus and finally Muhammad (upon all of whom I invoke peace and blessings). These teachings are complete and without contradictions or deficiencies, so that if any of it is abandoned, its place will be taken by a destructive innovated practice. Likewise adapting an innovation, even one which appears beautiful, will distract a worshiper from the rewards of following the path of Submission to our Creator.
