What Is Religion

The Satanic Temple claims the worship of Satan is a religious practice. Many Christians have been predictably annoyed. They need not have been. Satanic worship is indeed a religion. That this is not overt in many other religions does not make the fact less true. The Satanists have every right to worship Satan. The real difference is that they do it openly. If Christians have a difficult time clarifying how Christianity differs from the practice of religion, it is not the fault of Satanists. Christians ought to see how much what they are doing diverges from what Christ did. It is up to us as Christians, to brand our belief system in a way the divides it clearly and distinctly from religion, including the religion of overt Satanists.
