GitHub to UpWork Scam || Sophisticated || For GitHub beginners & SB Owners

In this video, I will detail the set up for a clever scam initiated on GitHub with the intent to move operations to UpWork (or any freelance platform). Get the word out to anyone you know and understand the general pattern because it can be applied cross-platform with any entry points to get the initial target to unknowingly commit fraud.

Share this with small business owners or self-employed individuals you know because they are in the group of intended targets. If you are a web developer, this is an opportunity to show the small business owner that you know that they should pay a little more to do business with you as a trusted adviser instead of the alluring cheap labor that can be found on the internet.

This is NOT a knock on UpWork. I think freelance platforms are valuable, but this video is a warning of what might be there on the other side just like any transactional platform.

As mentioned, in the video, I'll be putting out some content that could be a big help to developers who need refreshers on topics or junior programmers who'd like project ideas with real business use cases from someone who has reached high managerial positions within organizations and using programming as my secret weapon to gain an edge. If you're interested in that, give a subscribe as that content is coming really soon.
