Lecture Topic: Pioneers in Animal Psychology – Watson, Pavlov & Thorndike

In this lecture we will review the influence of animal psychology on behaviorism, and its pioneers to include: John B. Watson, Ivan Pavlov and Edward Thorndike. The movement towards functionalism had been less revolutionary than evolutionary. The functionalist had not set out deliberately to destroy the establishment of Wundt and Titchener.
