Runnin' in the West

" Runnin' in the West " . Was written by John C Abernathy about the Wild Mustang's. His love for the mustangs really show in this song !
It was used as a public service announcement trying to help with the Wild horse and burro adoption program. This song was also nominated for a Emmy in 2001.
John along with Red Ryder both played a active role in the adoption program, doing their best to find horses homes. He himself even has a wild mustang that he rides !
John was inducted into the New Mexico Music Hall of Fame in November of 2018. He shares this prestige with other great musicians like Buddy Holly and Glen Campbell.
He also has Cowboy Poetry book that can still be bought today. The cowboy poetry books sell for 12 dollars postage included , and the profits all go to help buy hay for the Gila Mustangs in South Dakota. If you are interested in a book you can contact John C Abernathy thru Facebook.
We are very proud of him for what he has done, and I'm not just sayin that because he's my dad either !! He's a true Cowboy that lets his love of the southwest and the wild mustangs be well known !!
