The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter ALDER (WLB-216) is a 225' multi-mission buoy tender homeported in Duluth, MN. ALDER's primary missions are aids to navigation (ATON), ice breaking, law enforcement, and search and rescue. ALDER also performs missions such as marine environmental protection and port security and safety. ALDER is primarily responsible for Lake Superior and upper Lake Michigan, but operates throughout the Great Lakes.
