Is GOD cruel? Certainly NOT!!!

In the Holy Bible in the Book of Genesis(Genesis 22) you can find the story of Abraham who is commanded by GOD to sacrifice his first born son Isaac(Ismael was actually his firstborn son but he was the son born out of disobedience to GOD; Ismael was the son of his slave Hagar).
Is GOD cruel? Certainly NOT! Abraham was born a pagan surrounded by pagans who were used to sacrifice their first born sons to please their pagan gods.
GOD wanted to show Abraham and his desendants AND us(humanity) that HE isn't a vindictive, vicious, bloodthirsty bully god like the pagan gods/idols.......
