What does the OSHA rule require for a certified Signalperson?
• Signalperson 1926.1428(c):
1. Know and understand basic hand signals;
2. Be competent in the application of the type of signals
used, e.g. hands, radio;
3. Have a basic understanding of the crane’s operation
and limitations;
4. Understand when it is appropriate to use hand, radio or
special signals;
5. Demonstrate qualification through an oral or written
exam and a through a practical exam.
All of the above are evaluated by either a third-party qualified evaluator (hint: such as Crawford Custom) or the employer’s qualified evaluator. #ncccocertified #signalperson #ccc #crawfordcustom #training #certification
