How to paint a SMALL SEASCAPE
In the video I show you how to paint a seascape feature the coast of Wellington in New Zealand. This is just a small painting, but I love painting small art works and you can use them as colour studies to refer to if you are going to paint a large art work. I nearly always paint a small painting before doing a big one and sometimes a small painting is as far as it'll go but often i'll develop the idea and do a large painting.
In this video I discuss the idea behind the composition, I go over the colours and brushes I am using, I explain the principles behind the tonality of the painting and I explain how to mix some of the colours I am using. Also there are lots of tips for painting seascapes in general.
