This in my mind is a piece about Japanese Militarism before and during World War II, leading up to dropping of the
Atomic Bomb. If President Truman, One of the last good Democrats, hadn’t done this, many more thousands of American and other allied militaries may have died including my father. So, though some have told me this is in bad taste, I believe they are wrong. I wouldn’t be
here. And, you wouldn't be listening to my music. For my father, who was stationed in the South Pacific and contracted
malaria, and for Navy Fireman 2nd Class James B. Boring, 21, of Vales Mill, Ohio, a distant cousin who was killed
in the sinking of the Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor, I stand by the scenario of this piece.
