In the Mists of Appalachia - Tribute to Ives, Op 114

A work done as a tribute to pay tribute to the iconoclastic Charles Ives who used
American melodies in new formats throughout all of his works. I quoted the folksong,
“Shenandoah”, in the piece. The work depicts a man walking from his home on a cool
autumn morning to a nearby coffee shop. Shenandoah is being practiced by the High
School band as he passed. He gets to the diner, orders his oatmeal, and sometime later,
one of the horn players from the band comes into to the diner to get his oatmeal.
