Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl is facing backlash after she dined outdoors at her favorite restaurant hours after voting to virtually shut it down for three weeks.

Ms. Kuehl had referred to outside dining as “a most dangerous situation” during last week’s Board of Supervisors meeting, in which she voted to support a controversial ban on outdoor dining. The measure, which passed 3-2 on Nov. 24, restricts restaurants to providing only takeout, delivery and drive through services for at least three weeks in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

FOX 11 reported Monday night that just hours after her vote, Ms. Kuehl was spotted dining outside at Il Forno Trattoria in Santa Monica.
