Casa Grande Ruins = Jewel of the desert

Happenstance brought us to this great First People's Heritage site. When looking for a route for another adventure, we noticed this National Monument that was right there right on the way. An early morning slight detour led us down a long road in a fenced off area of the desert.

It didn't take long to see that massive canopy made of steel standing off in the distance and we knew our destination was just ahead. We pulled into the parking lot and asked about a fee from a nearby ranger as we had not seen an entrance gazebo. There was no fee! It was a free park.

We scurried along the path to the ruins and this video is a result of what we encountered. We hope you enjoy seeing something different and not well known. If you'd like to know more about Casa Grande Ruins, visit the link here. https://www.nps.gov/cagr/index.htm
