Devils Bridge and the Van Deren Trail

Our weekend in Prescott and Sedona ended with a drive down the Van Deren Cabin OHV trail to the Devils Bridge hiking trail where we hiked until we saw the bridge and got our obligatory photo. The trail from the Van Deren trailhead was packed again as this is in fact Sedona - a touristy location. It was at times hard to believe how many people were making the almost 6 mile there and back trek to see Devils Bridge; many even hiking beyond that.

The road was rocky like Schnebley Hill again and the hiking trail didn't look any better as there were many outcrops and loose rocks along the path. All that was mere pittance because we were in Sedona! Where the red rocks are! Beauty on both sides of the trails as we were greeted with Bristlecone pines, Yucca, and cactus of every variety as well as stunning views of breathtaking cliffs above us.

I don't know if there is ever a less crowded time to visit Sedona but it is certainly a bucket list recommendation from us here at Overland Wanderlust. Crystal and I will be going back several more times I'm sure as there are an abundance of off roading trails and hikes to do.
