Hello there!!! Welcome to ASL Patriot Broadcast!
Carter Page, through his attorney Leslie McAdoo Gordon, filed a $75 million lawsuit against James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Lisa Page, Peter Strzok, the Department of Justice, and others, on Friday. Who is Carter? Carter William Page is an American oil industry consultant and a former foreign-policy adviser to Donald Trump during his 2016 presidential election campaign. He claims that FISA, Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act watched him illegally.
Leslie tweeted: “It is my privilege to represent Carter Page in his suit against the officials who violated his rights in an outrageous abuse of govt power. We’re a team of lawyers working for justice for Carter,” {PIC from article}
In the 59 page document, Page alleges his Civil Right were infringed upon by illegal spying upon him and ruining his life, that Andrew McCabe already admitted to doing. The complaint leads with McCabe’s admission to the Senate Judiciary Committee that, “We are all responsible for the work that went into that FISA”
“Specifically, Page seeks relief herein for Defendants’ multiple violations of his Constitutional and other legal rights in connection with unlawful surveillance and investigation of him by the United States Government. Page was targeted because of his lawful association with the 2016 Presidential campaign of Donald Trump. Page is entitled to relief for Defendants’ unjustified and illegal actions (including violations of federal criminal law), which violated federal statutes enacted to prevent unlawful spying on United States persons, as well as the Constitution.”
FISA provides a private right of action to allow “an aggrieved person who has been subjected to an electronic surveillance or about whom information obtained by electronic surveillance of such person has been disclosed,” to sue those responsible.
In addition to stating a civil claim for damages under FISA, Page’s attorneys note in the complaint that FISA makes it a criminal offense to illegally “engage in electronic surveillance under color of law.” While only the government can prosecute a criminal violation of FISA, the allegation is a stark reminder that other than Kevin Clinesmith, who earlier this year pleaded guilty to falsifying an email to hide Page’s past service as a source to the CIA, no criminal cases have resulted from the illegal targeting of Page and the Trump campaign—at least not yet.
