昭和33(1958)年7月22日に公開された映画｢東京のバスガール｣。逆転シンデレラストーリー風味なコメディ映画です。この曲は映画の主題歌で、助演女優を務めたコロムビア・ローズが歌っています。当時のバスガールは女学生憧れの的。学歴以外に容姿端麗を求められる花形職業でした。華やかな陰で繰り広げられる苦労を語った曲ですが、マイナー調なのに明るさと華やかさを感じさせる名曲です。
