Most have heard of the Bible, some have read the Bible, but only a few have endeavored to write out and recite the Bible. In this video, we scribe Chapter 2 of the Gospel of Mark and read God's Word aloud. Holy Bible, Authorized King James Version

FAQs:
"What inspired you to do this?"
- I was listening to a John MacArthur message and it was pointed out that, on average, only 8% of self-professed Christians have actually read the entire Bible cover-to-cover. While I grew up in a church environment and was quite familiar with popular verses and stories, I never spent the time to even read one complete book. This meant my brain was filling in details about the Bible that were based on assumption rather than doctrine.

As a slow and poor reader, I found that copying verses and paragraphs significantly helped with my recollection and understanding as it forced me to slow down and better visualize the messages. This sent me on a journey to learn about the lives of the ancient scribes that dedicated their entire lives and careers to copying the Bible letter-for-letter and word-for-word. As a result, only the very powerful and wealthy could afford to own a copy of the Bible. For hundreds of years, many governments and religious groups took advantage of this limited resource and added man-made rules and interpretations to God's Word that are simply not there. To retain power and control, there were times where people were burned at the stake for possessing a personal copy of the Bible because it threatened to expose the organization's false doctrine. See John Wycliffe's story!

Long-story-short, I concluded that the only way I would fully understand the Bible and be able to intellectually discern between true and false doctrine i was to read and write the Bible myself. To write it word-for-word with no modification.

"What version of the Bible do you use?"
- King James Version

"Why the King James Version?"
- No real good answer. From the research I've done, the KJV appears to be the most accurate English version of the original Hebrew, Greek and Latin versions.

"How long do you expect this project will take?"
- Three to four years. I'm trying to write, recite, and record one chapter per day.
There are 80 books and 1,189 chapters in a King James Bible.

"Can I get a copy of the books you have handwritten?"
- Yes. As each book is completed, I will provide a link to where they can be downloaded as a .pdf copy. I also plan to have books professionally bound and copied so that I can give then to friends and family. I made the mistake of scribing the Book of Genesis and Matthew into standard 7.5" x 9.75" composition notebooks. As a result, the photocopy quality is terrible because I wrote on both sides of each sheet of paper and the ink bled through to the other side. When you add the distraction of the lines and size-difference from a standard 8.5" x 11" sheet, it all becomes a hot mess.

*** Word to the wise: Use single, 8.5" x 11" sheets of bright white paper and only write on one side:) Use lined paper underneath the blank sheet to serve as a line guide. Before you buy high quality paper, make sure you test the paper for ink durability and translucency.

"What Bible do you use to transcribe?"
Holman, Authorized King James Version, Super Giant Print Edition, Words of Christ in Red.
