Jolly Pumpkin La Roja Franco Belgian Style Sour Ale 3.25/5

I've never had anything from Jolly Pumpkin out of Michigan before. I grabbed this since I was looking for a Cherry brew recommended by a pair of subs. While I couldn't find Cherry Bomb Blonde ( I will keep looking and I'll ask the local wizard if he can find me some to do) So I grabbed this. It has some of my favorite terms in it. Cask Aged, Bottle Conditioned, Belgian, Flemish, Sour, etc. sadly it didn't live up to those noble tags. This is a blended cask brew, a mash up of various ales from 2-15 months aged in Bourbon barrels. I was looking forward to the heavy Bourbon, the Cherry stone and various fruits they listed but I didn't get any. This is a very vinegary sour. While I love sours I'm not a vinegar guy. This could've been a bad bottle but from this sampling I'd say she wasn't very well crafted. I never found the fruit, the caramel or any of the other side notes especially the Bourbon which I worried would bury the rest of the brew. On the nose she is quite pleasant, on the initial hit it is a different story. Very sour due to the high acidity she runs medium thru the middle. The acidity hangs on the palate until finally falling off on the back end where she is dry, cleanish but still too acidic for my palate.It's a 1 off for me but I had higher hopes of sweetness blended w tart finishes.
