In this comprehensive and exhaustive techtorial on Packet Tracer activity 2.5.3 (Propagate a Default Route into OSPFv2) we take a deep dive into the the new Cisco Networking Academy CCNAv7 Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation (ENSA) course curriculum! In this techtorial you will learn how to create a default static route and then advertise/originate that default static route into OSPFv3. In addition, we go over the various configuration options that accompany the 'default-information originate' command such as the 'metric', 'metric-type', and 'always' options and discuss use cases for each one. Each one of those options is also configured on real Cisco ISR G2 routers and all of the validation and verification commands needed are demonstrated. We also talk about the default metric value for a default route when it is advertised/propagated into OSPFv2. This techtorial/Packet Tracer activity is all done running Packet Tracer version 7.3.0 which was just released this week and is the MINIMUM version you can use for any of the new CCNAv7 curriculum activities! Be sure to leave your feedback and questions below and I hope I have earned the privilege of your time!
