Common Sense To Calories (Weight Loss & Muscle Building)
Why do bodybuilders have to bulk and cut. If it's jus about calories in & out, the logic would be that we could raise our metabolism(basal metabolic rate) through exercise and then we could eat more calories & continually bulking. Therefore building as much muscle as we wanted. Problem is just like weight loss our body is continually trying to stay in balance and as you stay in a calorie surplus for to long you will become insulin resistant and store more fat. This is why they have to go through calorie deficit phases. To create more insulin sensitivity and balance. The point is hormones are what's playing the biggest role in muscle gain and weight loss not just calories. Keep in mind this is in the context of building muscle and staying lean.
