iPosible 26800mAh PoweBank Review
At one time this handy-sized 26800mAh Solar Power Bank would have been far larger than the 25 x 7.5 x 1.5 cm 350g unit we have here and costing rather more than the modest £19.95 Amazon price.
The device was delivered packaged in a standard rather uninspired branded product box. Supplied with the power bank was a short USB to micro-USB charging cable, and a small but well written and easy to read User Guide. I enclose a scan of it at the end of my unboxing video.
I was expecting a larger unit but the power bank is still quite chunky. It seems very robust and well made and capable of surviving a knock or two. On the front is a four LED display to show the remaining battery power and charging status. Also on the front are the various connectors: one 2.1A USB output port, one 1A USB output port and one 5v/2.1A Micro-USB power in port. On one side is the Off/On button, press to start charging, long press to turn off. Most of the top face is taken up by the large solar panel array, the capability of which the user guide does not tell us.
The whole unit is housed in an ABS Silicone sleeve which should help to make the unit impact resistant. The device is not water-resistant and there is no protection for the ports.
I tested it with my OnePLus 5T phone and my iPad and found the charging times to be fast with no sign of overheating either from the power bank or connected device. The 26800mAh Li-Polymer Battery should hold enough power to charge most mobile phones several times over. Be aware that this device is primarily designed to be charged from an external source, which will take around eight hours. The solar panel will trickle charge only which means it will take a long time to fully charge the battery from flat. The best way to use this device is to keep it in the sun when camped out, that way it can slowly top itself up between normal USB charges. That said, the solar charger does indeed work and works well but do not expect too much from it, especially in the UK winter months!
This is a powerful and versatile power bank, free from whistles and bells that performs one task and does it particularly well. There is nothing oustanding about it, but nothing particularly bad. The price current Amazon price is good for the features, capacity and the robust build quality. I see no reason why not to recommend it.
