In Chapter Twenty-five, Hunnic scouts catch sight of a large Persian Imperial Guard. Attila decides that he needs Helena's skills as a translator. Even though she has no actual choice, she agrees with his plan as she feels that her presence might make a difference. She is filled with dread at the thought of Valamir facing an organized military force.
