Salisbury Whale 8/18/18

Sorry for the grainy video, it was shared via text message. This was taken late in the afternoon after a cloudy morning. We ventured out of the Merrimack River and were floating just out of the frame when the camera initially pans left, a couple hundred yards off Salisbury Beach. We saw this happen...thought it actually hit the boat! These guys are friends of a friend and were floating in a center console, just outside the mouth of the Merrimack River.
What you can't tell from the grainy video is that there are Pogies jumping all around the boat. There were 2 Humpback whales schooling the Pogies. This one took a run at them heading east. Just after this video, the other whale came north toward us (dumbass forgot to take out his phone). The whale surfaced to take a breath about 20 feet off our bow, then dove right under our boat (our prior boat, Silverton 34C), just missing us. I had the engines running, so he knew exactly where we were. Exciting nonetheless!
