As the nectar flow draws to an end and the
mercury begins to rise, dearth descends on
the apiary.

A small but dedicated group of bees
tirelessly defend their hives from an
the onslaught of attacks from nectar
craving rivals.

The ANTS are out in force and have
no sympathy for the tireless battles
recently fought against the mature hives
in the first robbing of the season.

The Resource hive with its two colonies
and young queens continuously meet
the challenges brought upon them.

Overwhelmingly outnumbered, the
once strong Pine NUC is forced to
evacuate their box and seek refuge
under the telescoping cover.

With time running short for the Pine
NUC and a bleak future ahead for the
Teal NUC the bee have only one chance
