So, I followed all the rules in society or life. I graduated high school, went to a good college to get a degree to get a job. I got that job. After that I asked what is next? What do I do now? I looked at my peers and everyone was buying new cars, renting nice expensive apartments downtown, and blowing their money every weekend out at the bar. Deep down something did not feel right about that.

I was really struggling with myself right after college, I felt lost. I felt like I had nothing to really work towards in my career life. I got on with a prestigious engineering firm and looked at management. These were guys 20 years ahead of me in my career and when I looked at them, I did not see myself in them. I could not sit in that cubicle for 30 to 40 years of my life just to earn that paycheck.

Now that is an important word for this video… Paycheck. What is a paycheck. A paycheck is something you receive after trading your time for money.
I remember days at work when I would spend all morning researching money and investing ideas until I came across a book someone recommended and it was Rich Dad Poor Dad. In that book he mentions active income and passive income. My life was forever changed.

Active income is what you earn at your job. Every morning, you get up, get ready, commute into work, and trade your time for money. Well, what if I told you there was a different way. It not easy but if you are willing to put in the work you can make it happen.

First thing you need to change is your mindset. I remember being at my old day jobs and guys would brag about the new truck they just financed or the camper they were going to buy that weekend but every day they complained about being at work.

So, the first thing you can do to fix this is minimize your expenses. The more you save and invest your money they faster you can make it out of that 9-5 life.

Second, look into ways to create passive income.
Think about this, you spend time and hard work up front to create a product but once that product is completed, you reap the benefits and earn money from that product month after month for little to no work. Then you can do the things you really enjoy in life.
What does that look like to you?
More time to spend with family and loved ones?
More time to travel and see the world?
All of this is possible if you are willing to put in the work. It will be tough; you will want to quit but if you want the reward at the end you have to stick with it.

Me for example, my first passive income endeavor was this YouTube channel. Now I know, not everyone thinks YouTube is passive but here me out. When I create a video, most of them continue to get views and earn me income. My first video I ever created on my main channel still gets consistent views. But YouTube isn’t just about views. There is so much more to it. Now I sell merchandise, that is literally now work to me. Affiliate marketing, companies pay me for pushing traffic to their products.

And its not all just YouTube. I also earn passive income from real estate. I hired a Property manager and literally every month I collect a check.

I have worked on this long enough to where I now was able to make a complete lifestyle change. I have built up enough income sources as well as reduced my spending so much that I was able to take this leap.
I could of built the fancy dream home, bought the nice truck and boats but my freedom was much more important.
Now I get to wake up every morning and make my son breakfast. I get to decide when I want to work and when I don’t.

So, the moral of this video is to truly understand time is our most valuable asset. Don’t work a job you hate to buy things you don’t need to impress people you really don’t like. Figure out a way to make your own money and I promise you; you will be much happier.

Thanks for watching!
