Social Security -- The Long Slow Default

In this video I discuss the financial history of the United States’ Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance program (OASDI), also known as Social Security, I discuss changes in the benefits formula, the payroll tax, and other related issues. I show that over the last few decades participation in the social security system has become far less appealing, and that currently most social security participants will receive a negative return on their payments.
