With 5 Peaks, 187 trails, and 2,908 skiable acres, Breckenridge ski resort offers enough diversity for the entire family. Roughly 105 miles from the Denver airport, this resort can be reached by shuttle and has a capacity of nearly 43,000 people per hour.

Best skied in the early hours between 1st chair and noon to avoid crowds, you can cover a lot of ground. Claimjumper is a blue run that connects Peak 7 to Peak 8 before reaching the T-bar and is wide enough to avoid the crowds when the lines get long.

Breckenridge ski resort began it's planning phase towards the end of the 1950's when Bill Rounds of the Porter and Rounds lumber company had an idea to bring skiing into the Valley. He created an organization called the Summit County Development Corporation which started to work with the the U. S. Forest Service and by December of 1861 the Peak 8 ski area opened. Early skiing consisted of a single Heron double chair with a midway unloading station and a short T Bar. Tickets were four dollars for adults and two dollars and fifty cents for children. Ullr fest came just a year later as the majority of the ski instructors were Norwegian.
