BODYCAM: Foot Pursuit of 2 Robbery Suspects in Atlanta

On 10-27-2020, at around 7:30 PM, Zone 2 officers were dispatched to an armed robbery call at 740 Sydney Marcus Boulevard in Northeast Atlanta. Upon arrival, officers were advised three males had just robbed a man and were last seen running into the nearby woods.

Officers immediately began searching the woods and surrounding areas for the suspects and eventually located them near the trail behind Miami Circle. Both males ran as soon as they saw the police.

Officers pursued the males on foot and were able to apprehend both.

Officers met with the victim who advised he was parking his vehicle at the location when he was approached by three young males, asking for directions.

The victim assisted the males and then began walking to his apartment. As he approached the stairs, he noticed the males approaching him again, this time with a handgun.

One of the males demanded the victim’s belongings and they searched him, finding only a face mask.

The males then took the mask and ran into the woods.

Officers determined both suspects were juveniles, one being 13-years-old and the other 14-years-old.

Both were charged and transported to the Fulton County Youth Detention Center.

The third suspect and the firearm used during the robbery were not located.
