Professor Muhammed Haron lead a procession to the Cape Town Central Police station on Tuesday 28 May. The Imam Haron 50th year Commemoration Committee is gearing up to host events over the next 123 days, a period of martyrdom during which Imam Haron was imprisoned. It was at the Caledon Square Police station, now the Cape Town Central Police Station, where Imam Haron was interrogated, beaten and tortured, until his death on the 27th September 1969. On 28 May 1969 Abdullah Haron was arrested by apartheid security police. 2019 marks 50 years since the death of Al-Shaheed Imam Abdullah Haron. Video Henk Kruger/African News Agency (ANA) (m69)
