SOUTH AFRICA - Cape Town - Lesser Flamingos at SANCCOB (+ Video clip) (Ri7)

Sanccob volunteers at its Table View centre help feed the baby flamingos rescued at the dried up Kamfers Dam outside Kimberley this week. At least 2000 chicks of the lesser flamingo species were taken to various bird rehabilitation facilities across the country to receive care. Sanccob's Dr Katta Ludynia says the chicks will spend the next two to four months at the rehabilitation centre and will need ongoing care. Video: Henk Kruger/African News Agency (ANA.) (Ri7)
