South Africa - Cape Town - 4 June 2019 - The Muslim community celebrate Eid today in the Bo Kaap. They give Sadaqah in the form of money to especially children who come around to wish them a Eid Mubarak. Sadaqah is the act of charity given purely out of compassion, love, friendship, religious duty or generosity. It is an age old tradition performed on Eid in the Bo Kaap. Anyone can give Sadaqah at any time and for any amount. Sadaqah has no set amount. You can give anything that you are financially capable of.
