Cape Town - 18.0219. Spectators watched in awe the live demonstration of weaponry at Sunrise beach in Muizenberg. The excercise forms part of the 2019 Armed Forces Day Celebrations and the commemoration of the sinking of the SS Mendi. Events for that week leading up to the main parade on Thursday 21 February in Blouberg included a fan park at Mandela Stadium in Khayelitsha, inter-faith church service, wreath-laying and a capability demonstration night shoot at Muizenberg Sunrise Beach on February 19 February.
