SOUTH AFRICA - Cape Town - 08 November2019 - Stock - Farming with alpacas. The fiber yielded from the alpacas is equivalent to that of cashmere. The alpacas are cleaned by brushing them and blowing the fur with a leaf blower. This happens in the weeks leading up to the shearing, starts mid November. On each animal are three different grades of fiber, prime, second and third grades. The fiber is analyzed and separated into its grade. It is then processed, cleaned and spun into wool which is used to make garments for retail. Video - Tracey Adams/African News Agency/ANA (28P)
