The City’s Fire and Rescue Service displayed the new Rosenbauer Metz Turntable Ladder L56 at the Epping Training Academy. The new Rosenbauer Metz Turntable Ladder L56, with an aerial reach of approximately 56 meters, is a first for Africa. These specialised vehicles are the latest addition to the fleet. The hydraulic rescue platform vehicles are unique as up to six people can be lowered in a rescue cage from a building. Alderman JP Smith, Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security as well as the Chief Fire Officer, Ian Schnetler, was in attendance where the capabilities of the vehicles were displayed.
