Gàidhlig (Scots Gaelic) for "The Black Hole", An Toll Dubh is an iconic Runrig song about the historical suppression of the Gaelic language in Scotland. It emphasizes the need for Gaels worldwide to awaken from their slumber and reassert their unique culture and language. The song has particular relevance to Gaelic speaking Cape Bretoners from Nova Scotia, Canada. Cape Breton is the last place in all of North America where the Gaelic language still has a foothold.
