Doberman has squirrel friends, dog won't chase the squirrels

This is Eileen, my rescue doberman and squirrel whisperer. A few months after I adopted her, she decided that watching squirrels was more rewarding than chasing them out of the yard. I never taught her this. I was dumbfounded the first day I saw her sitting statue-still, just watching. The squirrels trust Eileen enough to run amok around her, sniff her, and munch their nuts within inches of her. Even the crows trust her. She's my squirrel whisperer.
