South Africa - Cape Town - 16 January 2020 - Minister Debbie Schafer address people at the Western Cape 2019 National Senior Certificate Awards Ceremony at Leeuwenhof. The Western Cape's top achievers in the 2019 National Senior Certificate (NSC) Examinations were celebrated on Thursday at the annual award ceremony hosted at the official premises of the premier. Education MEC Debbie Schäfer and the Western Cape Premier Alan Winde hosted the matriculants to congratulate them on their results in 2019. Madelein Dippenaar from Paarl Gimnasium High School placed number one in the country, Gary Allen from Rondebosch Boys’ High School placed second and Anuoluwa Makinde from Milnerton High School came in third.
