The Stikland Cemetery in Bellville is one of the 40 burial sites in the Cape Town municipal area and is 1.34 kilometres in length. A memorial site was constructed at the cemetery to commemorate the lives of 12 political prisoners from Robben Island who were buried there in the 1960s. Messrs Simon, Langben, Kula, Mani, Maliwa, Khalipha, Mvalwana, Mqalu, Poni, Makisi, Batyi and Mkele are buried in unmarked graves there. Video Ian Landsberg/African News Agency (ANA). (svy)
