South Africa - Cape Town - 24 March 2019 - The wreck of the four-masted schooner, the Commodore II, is visible near Lagoon Beach, Milnerton. The ship was built in the United States in the early 20th century, converted into a floating coal hulk during World War II, and a coal transport thereafter. The remains of the ship, which sank off Milnerton beach in 1946, were relocated from the Diep River in Milnerton to a piece City owned land in Lagoon Beach, an operation that took 7 hours. The Commodore II was used as a set for the film Mutiny on the Bounty (1935), starring Clark Gable. Video: David Ritchie/African News Agency(ANA) (XAq)
