South Africa - Cape Town - 1 April 2020 - As a response to the national lockdown the city of Cape Town has put up single tents with blankets for the homeless under the N2 bridge coming into the city centre. The city supplies three meals a day and it has set up portable toilets and running water 24/7 in the demarcated areas. The city has been unable to supply mattresses and while this has upset some, others say they are used to cardboard beds, with no blankets, let alone mattresses.
