Edelweiss Stitch - Straight Needles Knitting Pattern Tutorial - Continental Knitting

Straight needles:
Cast on multiples of 2 + 1
Row 1: Knit every stitch in the row
Row 2: Knit 1, Purl 2 together (leave the stitches on the needle). Now knit those same 2 stitches together
Repeat this pattern until the end of the row when you have one stitch left.
Row 3: Knit every stitch
Row 4: Purl 2 together (without dropping them from your lefthand needle). Knit those same 2 stitches together until you get to your last stitch, which you will Knit 1.
Now you know how to knit the Edelweiss Stitch on straight needles!
