Stubborn husky refuses to eat, tries to bury his food

Rumble / Dogs & PuppiesZeus the Stubborn Husky has been diagnosed with a large liver tumor which may be inoperable. We hope to get good news during surgery which is tentatively schedule for Friday September 11th, 2020. Zeus had lost some weight which prompted a vet visit, and ultimately the discovery of the tumor. His appetite has lessened (despite being on medication) due to the tumor pushing on his stomach. His meals have been cubed steak and grilled chicken, some of his favorites. Despite these yummy offerings, he's struggled to eat all his meals and snacks. It has taken some coaxing and tricking to get him to eat (including peer pressure from Kaden!). Follow Zeus on his journey, which we hope will be for many more years yet.

Put the pill in peanut butter. I've never had a dog refuse that.

Dogs know what and when they need nutrients. Not a problem unless they start to lose significant amounts of weight. Keep giving the food and they will eat what’s required. The cool thing is dogs can go a week or more without food but water is a different story, always keep fresh water ready and available. When mine stop drinking water that’s when I get nervous.

Poor Zeus, maybe he prefers raw meat, heard that is healthier for dogs anyways. Especially part wolf. AWE, you sound like me pleading with my cat to eat. Not easy. Hang in there. There is also RC vitamin induced dog food to help him gain weight. Ask you Vet. Best of luck! They are both gorgeous <3
